Spiritual Notions

Just a rambling post of my thoughts on why we feel we need approval of anyone else to get things done.

There are so many self modifications for what spirituality is.  It appears that many believe religion is equivocal to being spiritual.  I beg the differ on the account of what it represented to me growing up.  As a child, I understood them to be the same until I had an epiphany around 14 or 15 years old.

I was praying to God asking for something in particular.  It never came to fruition until I went out to execute a plan I already had in place to get this thing manifested.  I began asking myself, "If I have this much power to get things done without talking to God, would it work?"

I found out that yes it would.

We sometimes forget, or have been taught,  the power isn't isn't within us unless we call on the power of God first.
There are so many things I have accomplished since I asked myself this question as a teen.  Each time, I refused to consult God about anything and create a plan to execute to get things done.
Each time, and each instance, everything planned came to fruition without fail.

What are these spiritual notions that enabled me to get things done?  If the power I needed was already in me, and if I already had plans in place, and if everything I set forth from my thoughts to manifested material, then why did I need to consult with anyone else for their power to get anything done?

What is my spiritual notions?  My notion is that everyone is fully equipped with everything they need for sustainability.  Just use the power within and act on your thought(s) into manifestation.

Messengers Of Nature

Found at Duck Pond in South Carolina
Ever felt as if when something appears over and over again, there is something about to happen?  It's what I've experienced more often the last few weeks since the full moon.  Everywhere I go, no matter where, feathers are always found at my feet.
I've always been told that feathers in your path is a good omen for things happening in your favor.
I know that it is.  Ever since the feathers keep collecting, everything I need is right at my fingertips.
No complaints here.  Just wanted to share how messages come in many different forms other than people.
My method for cleaning them when I get home is dish liquid, sea salt, lavender/jasmine oil, Florida water. Just cleanse, rinse, and put in favorite window to dry.

If you have any, share them with us.

HAPPY HARVEST 🙂🙂

Slurpee Date

Sister on left. Me on right.  Circa 4/21/2016
Just reminiscing my slurpee dates with my sisters at our neighborhood 7-11 store.  Those were the best days growing up.  The constant brain freeze kept me from wanting them so often but it sure helped me to cool off during those hot summer months.

One of my sisters still have this crazy fetish for them today.  If we're traveling and come upon a 7-11 in her view, she wants to stop at everyone one of them for a refill (LOL).

Going back home this coming weekend and really looking forward to my slurpee date with my sister and her children.  We always catch up on what's new with my nieces and nephew while we slurp away.

The moral of this post is that some memories are worth relishing.  Even just to make you smile.

Until next time........

Granny

Cloud Reading

Cloud watching while on a recent trip to Tennessee
Remembering back to a time when my sisters and I used to lie on the ground in our back yard and watch the clouds.  Some where so huge they looked as if they were coming right at us as they were moving, and we were lying still.
We swore, while we were in elementary school, that we were cloud readers.  Sometimes what we said what the clouds revealed to us came true.  But we were children.  What did we know?
Evidently more than we realize.
Cloud reading was actually a spiritual session for us but didn't know it at the time.
Now that I think about it, they were sort of like our thoughts.
You have your good ones, bad ones, and ugly ones.
And just like thoughts, they are transient - they command attention, they change, they move on.
Last night, I read another post that confirms how spiritual cloud reading is by Joanne Sacred Scribes.
She explains further the meanings of different images you see.  Wish I had known more of these things as a child.
Nevertheless, I'll keep enjoying one of my favorite rituals and send the photos to my Auntie who enjoys them also.  I love it when she paints them.
Until next time.........

Granny

Consciousness Of Odor

While walking in the grocery store, I asked my husband what he smelled. He replied, "Nothing."  I said exactly.  I went on to tell him of how I remember how all the grocery stores had a variety of odors when you first walked into the store; as you walked around the store; and as you exited the store when I was a little girl.

We visited another local market that is Korean influenced.  I asked, "Do you smell that?"  He said,
Yes."  I said, "Now that is how I remember grocery stores smelling.  This is the smell of a market with non GMO produce."
There were smells of every meat and produce you saw.

Most stores now have almost no smell when you walk in.  Does it ever bother you that the odor is gone?  It does me.  Especially with the fruit and vegetables.  There are no aromas to indicate what those items are.
Although some aromas are pungent, you knew you had a great head of cabbage when you walked in the door.  Something so simple sparked a memory of how they are supposed to smell.

With Veganism and Vegetarianism on the rise, its no wonder people are still gaining so much weight (in my opinion) with these special diets instead of losing weight.
What is really going on with the produce industry today that a part of human enjoyment (at least to me - I knew produce was real with odor)  had to be stripped away from us?

While this may seem as a rambling to some, think about the difference in the scenarios I just submitted to you.

Until next time.......

Granny

Benefits of Music In Our Home

I grew up in a family where music was ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!

Still is!

As we got up in the morning for school or chores, we woke up to music playing or somebody in the house had already started a song and we would start chiming in harmoniously as we got our bearings from coming out of our slumber.

As we worked around the house, the orchard, or garden at our grandparents; we sang.
If someone wasn't feeling well; we sang.
If someone in the house started playing the piano, we'd come running to start harmonizing nothing short of 1 or 2 hours at a time.

Sometimes we made up songs acting silly which really raised the frequencies.
It set the mood for the entire day.
It also set the mood for the night.

It only took one person to get started and it would spread like wildfire as it is very contagious.

*Music is therapy*

Some of the benefits are:

• If your mind is perplexed about an issue, it deflects your mind to something more positive raising the frequency levels in your brain which controls the rest of you.

• Even for those dealing with dementia, it helps to restore memory (especially if you play music from that persons younger era).

• If you're ill, the high vibrations you're ingesting are raising the frequencies in your body to get it aligned for healing.

• If you are around someone who displays negative behavior often, play some of those healing vibes or start singing them. They are sure to change with the tune you are feeding them.

• It elevates your home tremendously.

How do you use music in your home?

Granny

The Power of Clean Hands

Growing up, Mama and my Grandparents were real big on clean hands. Still are.
It passed on to me and my sisters.

For the longest it was taught to me in school how it helped to rid of germs.
But that's not what clean hands are to us.

In reality, clean hands are one of the most important rituals you can perform.
Cleaning rituals aid in restoring positive energy and resources. It is a means of protection from evil spirits.

Cleaning hands after the bathroom is more about stepping into life refreshed, renewed, revitalized, and enhances the significance of bringing in more resources of great health which is our great wealth.
You just rid yourself of things that were of no value to you.

Time to make room for more resources!

Cleaning hands and food before preparing a meal has more to do with the magic you are using on your family and loved ones for greatness (health, prosperity, protection). Your loved ones are prized entities. It's important to treat them as such (another post on this soon).

Cleaning hands before eating a meal has more to do with giving thanks to Mother Earth for the resources to be replenished. It also signifies you are reciprocating the yield with productivity for which you were created for in this era.

Clean hands also are saying, "I'm ready to be restored"!
Get it?!

Our ancestors performed rituals with clean hands. Are you?

Granny

The Necessity of Copper

Photo from Google Images
Growing up, I remember copper pipes, copper pots and pans, copper jewelry, and copper items you could just set up all over the house as your home decor.

Why was copper so important to us?  It was considered a very important mineral that our ancestors made sure we got replenished with as they cook with the pots and pans or wore copper as jewelry.

Copper can be found in your liver, skeletal muscle (tendons), brain, heart, and kidneys.

Copper is important for cellular energy production, connective tissue formation, central nervous system function, and melanin formation.

So is it any wonder why its very hard to find copper (real copper) for your personal use anymore?!
Oh you can find it, but it's not that same texture that I remember from years ago.  The copper I remember didn't have copper shavings as time went on.  The copper I remember was more dense.

Don't mind me.
Just a random thought.

Unrecognized Entrepreneurship

Photo from Google images
I remember growing up when life seemed complicated but it was a lot more simpler.  Although we
had major chores to do, families were more self sufficient than they are today.  We grew our own vegetables, had apple trees, pear trees, peach tree, grape vines, and we were the only family in town with a chestnut tree.
We were able to barter with our neighbors for anything else we needed they had that we didn't.  The money you made at work you mostly kept for bills instead of having to go to the store. One of our neighbors grew most every root and leaf you needed for tea and herbs.  Another one raised hens and chickens.  We traded with them all the time.
What I'm getting at is, it's very rare you see this anymore.  Most of the town has redeveloped with new businesses and they say it is for the better.  I personally think it only made us faster.  You buy everything from the stores now so most of your money is now out of the home instead of in the home.
How is it that we allowed ourselves to become entranced with a dollar bill that it caused us to be more dependent rather than independent?
We were already entrepreneurs during that time and didn't recognize it.
Don't mind me.  This is just one of those random memories that came up while reminiscing through our home town.  No, things aren't as they used to be.  But it would be nice if they were.

Granny

Lightning Attraction

Photo from Google images

Growing up, my parents were always horrified to find me front and center in the window when there was a storm.
What always drew me to it?

Lightning!!!
I'm still very attracted to lightning when I see it.

I love the way it moves.
I love the way it's shape is completely different than the last one I saw.
I especially love how silently, no matter what, it continues to do its job.

Why was lightning so important to me (and still is)?

NITROGEN!!!

The lightning was a part of me coming to replenish the nitrogen I depleted out of my body by striking (be it up, down, or sideways).

I was always very small growing up, but very muscular.
The nitrogen was much needed to activate the protein in my body for muscle growth.

The next time you're visited by lightning, give Thanks.

Granny

Naked Detox

Growing up, we were encouraged to sleep with as less clothes as possible.
Old folks said, "It's good to let everything air out at night Gal so your cells can rejuvenate the right way. So let your body breathe."
As I got older, I realized another important factor for sleeping naked with my spouse - DETOXIFICATION

The polarities of your Union (physically and spiritually) is the top ingredient in the two of you detoxing and replenishing one another at the same time while you sleep.
The more opposite you are, the greater.

It is a beautiful, calming, renewing cycle that should occur every night as possible (or whenever you sleep together).

Some other benefits sleeping naked with your spouse are:
1) a stronger bond
2) balances your melanin
3) help regulate your natural body temperature
4) better and deep sleep
5) enjoy the Dreamworld more as you sleep
6) boost your immune system
7) healthier sex organs
8) reduction in skin disorders

Old folks weren't crazy.
They knew how to keep us from the Doctor as much as possible.

Until next time ..........

Ode To Zaan

No matter how many times you experience death of a loved one, you feel like this big heavy foot just landed in the middle of your chest and crushed your heart.  My little Zaan, although he was over 6ft tall, has transitioned to the other side.  It's always a little weird when the ones younger than you beat you to the other side.

Yep!  Granny is photobombing in the back...lol

What I remember of him most is his infectious dry humor.  He always found a way to make you laugh and he's just standing there with a straight face as if nothing happened.  Zaan was brilliant, unselfish, patient yet stern.  He enjoyed being with family and was always looking out for his baby sister Zaria.

Although he's no longer with us on this side, it feels good to no he's on the other side still looking out for his grandmother, mother, baby sister, and fiancé.

Zaan, I know this post is the shortest of my fondest memories, but I feel I would do you no justice if I said more.  Your exemplary life of how most women desire their son or man to be, you still are in Granny's memory.

Love you baby cousin ~ forever
And to all family members, love you too.

Much love,
Granny

Who Called Me Granny

Photo from Google Images
The origin of Granny began with my Godson whom I affectionately call Cee Cee.  He was my shining star.  When he started talking at a year old, his parents tried to get him to call me "God Mommy"; but he insisted on "Gammy" laughing each time he said it.  Of course I loved every time he said it, he was Granny's boy.  As time went on and Cee Cee's speech got better with age, he began saying Granny and so did every one else:  all Granny's Godchildren, their parents, the church, Students, and their parents, etc...

Of course you have the naysayers ranting about the use of a young person in her twenties being comfortable using the name Granny.  As usual, what did I care?! I loved it.  I told them at some point in my life, it would be the name that would bring me a great pay check.  And so, after starting this blog, I called it Elegant Granny; naming my company in honor of my Godson Cee Cee.  Turns out, EG is beginning to spread like wild fire.  So many magazines soliciting me for articles; radio shows soliciting for guest spots.  Thank you Cee Cee and to everyone else who enjoys Granny.  I appreciate you much.  If only I was able to show you as much as I can tell you.

Much love,
Granny
